Itinerary description
The Emmaus Trail is 18 km (11 mi) long and which goes from Abu Ghosh all the way to Emmaus Nicopolis. The entire hike took us about five hours.
Emmaus is a town mentioned in the Gospels, where it is described how - after his death and resurrection - Jesus appeared to his disciples, as they walked along the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus.
Notwithstanding the fact there are several possible locations for the biblical site of Emmaus, the good people of the "Saxum Center" (see tomorrow's post) have developed this trail, which seeks to follow the route that Jesus took.
