Itinerary description
Desde el centro de Málaga, se llega fácilmente en coche o autobús al punto de inicio de la ruta.
- Los autobuses 3, 8 y 11 llegan al inicio de esta ruta. Nosotros nos subimos en la parada Paseo del Parque Ayuntamiento, y fueron unos 20min de trayecto hasta la parada Avda. Juan Sebastian Elcano – Las Acacias.
- En coche, se puede aparcar fácilmente por la zona.
La primera parte de la ruta es la subida del barrio residencial, hasta llegar al cruce, donde empezaremos el sendero en la montaña. En realidad, hay dos entradas posibles para subir hasta la cima. En nuestro track, podrás ver por dónde hemos subido. Es un camino de cabra, que pasa por las vías de escalada, hasta llegar al primer mirador. Si prefieres la ruta más fácil, te aconsejamos entonces de subir por dónde hemos bajado; el sendero es más ancho, más adecuado para una ruta sencilla con niños por ejemplo. Te lleva también hasta el primer mirador.
Después del mirador, subimos hasta las dos cimas, pasando por una cueva. El camino tiene desnivel pero la subida es corta.
Para bajar, tienes varios caminos, más o menos largos. Nosotros bajamos por el camino corto, sencillo y así acabamos nuestra ruta de unos 10km en total.

🇺🇸 English: This route goes from the Las Acacias bus stop to the top of Monte San Antón.
From the center of Malaga, it is easy to reach the starting point of the route by bus or car.
- Bus lines 3, 8 and 11 have a stop right near the start of this route. We got on at the Paseo del Parque Ayuntamiento stop, and it took about 20 minutes to get to the Avda. Juan Sebastian Elcano – Las Acacias bus stop.
- By car, you can easily park in the area.
The first part of the route is walking up the streets of a residential neighborhood until reaching the crossroads where we will start the path up the mountain. Currently, there are two possible entrances to climb to the top. On our track, you will be able to see the point where we went up. It is a goat path which passes through the climbing routes until reaching the first viewpoint. If you prefer the easier route then we advise you go up the way we came down; the path is wider and more suitable for a hiking route with children, for instance. This path will also take you up to the first viewpoint.
After the viewpoint, we go up to the two peaks passing by a cave. The path is uneven but the climb is short.
To go down, you have several paths, some longer and some shorter. We went down the short, simple path and thus finished our route walking about 10 km in total.
Afterwards, we spent the rest of the day on the beach. Definitely recommend as a day trip if you run out of things to do in Malaga.

Tras haber subido una buena parte del barrio residencial, cogeremos el sendero que nos llevará en la montaña. Este sendero se encuentra a nuestra mano izquierda.
AVISO: Es un sendero de cabra, que te llevará hasta las vías de escalada, y luego hasta el mirador. Nosotros preferimos pasar por allí, para poder realizar la ruta circular. Si prefieres una ruta más sencilla, sigue recto y a pocos metros encontrarás un sendero a mano derecha. Ver nuestro último Waypoint ya que nosotros hemos bajado por allí, pero se puede subir también.
🇺🇸 This is the point where we begin the second part of our route.
After having climbed a good part of the residential neighborhood, we will get on the path that will take us up the mountain. This trail is on our left hand side.
NOTICE: This is a kind of goat path, which will take you to some climbing routes and then to the viewpoint. We prefer to go through there, in order to make a loop. If you prefer an easier route, keep going straight and a few meters ahead you will find a path on the right. See our last waypoint since we have exited the path there, but you can also go up.
