Itinerary description
Very nice hike from Erdal to Erdalsbreen glacier. It is a good sportive alternative to the crowded popular places. You will barely see a few hikers here.
Park the car on private parking after paying 40NOK in an envelop. It is not worth saving the parking and hiking the road up.
The trail is nice, quite flat and goes thru vegetation for the major part. It goes thru 2 sites with cabanes.
The last part of the trail, marked with red T, goes thru rocks with some very short climbing (less than 2m) without difficulty.
The lake and glacier only reveal themselves to the ones that finish the hike. Site is impressive.
For your info, we started in tee-shirt and ended the hike with pullover and coat due to the strong cold wind coming from the Jostedalsbreen area above. Surely needed for the first part of the way down.
Total time was 7h, including lunch time on way up and many stops to grab blueberries on way down (the dessert that evening was succulent).
Could be done in 6h if in very good shape, difficult to do less.
Have fun

We are a couple from Barcelona. Magnificent itinerary of great beauty through this glacial valley. Without technical complexity with good weather. Incomprehensibly you find practically no one. Thank you very much for sharing the itinerary.
I am glad to liked it. I thought it was worthwhile sharing since it is unknown on wikiloc and it is so nice
