Ermita del Calvario – Santuario Nuestra Senora de Flores – Castillo Árabe
This circular urban walk takes in three of the historic landmarks of Álora.
There is parking around the train station on Calle Estación.
Firstly you make your way up to the Ermita del Calvario. From here you make your way to the Santuario Nuestra Senora de las Flores. It is an interesting religious site which was open.
About 2 minutes down the road next to a small olive grove I had the privilege to come across a chameleon adjacent to the road.
From here we took a small diversion looking for the cave – Cueva de los Infantes which we couldn’t find.
We carried on through the Llanos de Santa Ana, then making our way through the village. A great little gem was the Mirador de Pepe Rosas (closes at 2pm). From here we made our way up to the Castillo de Álora. There are numerous information points around and admission is free.
It was an enjoyable walk, a village worth exploring.
