Itinerary description

This is quite an easy and very pleasant walk overall, walking upstream on the Arroyo de la Zazodilla and returning via an easy campo road route. However you should be careful not to do this walk after heavy rainfall as you may find some parts of the arroyo impassable. Also be aware that there is one difficult pinch point in the rocks that requires a bit of scrambling and maybe a helping hand from a friend - hence the 'moderate' rating at this time of year but it could be 'easy' in drier months.

An easy walk up the dry river bed. A bit like walking on a shingle beach!

At these levels of water you will find yourself crossing the water quite a lot to continue going upstream. Notice the turreted house which also features in Photo 5.

Lots of Almond trees. There was quite a lot of blossom but I expect it will be more spectacular in a couple of weeks time.

In places the valley is quite narrow and therefore harder to negotiate without getting your feet wet!

This is the pinch point mentioned in the description. It is more difficult than it looks in the photo unless you don't mind wading through the water, but be aware it was quite deep and fast moving when we were here! The sides are quite steep but we scrambled up the rocks to the right to get past this point.

For the final 500m or so, the stream was narrow and hemmed in by reeds etc. We could just not avoid getting our feet a little wet on this stretch!
