Stage 15 - Kyangjuma - Namche Bazar - Hillary Bridges - Jorsalle - Monjo - Chumoa - Benkar - TokTok - Phakding
December 1, 2019.
3rd Stage back to Lukla.
There are 2 days left to reach Lukla and end this incredible Trekking.
As we already knew it, we took it very calmly. Enjoying the passage through villages, hanging bridges, and the kindness of its people.
As on the way out, we stopped for lunch in Jorsalle and arrived at the Phakding Lodge at sunset where we would spend the night.

Description of the route:
A wonderful day dawned.
Too bad not to have had such a day on the way up to Gokyo Ri , or Gorak Shep , but it is very difficult to get it right when you have a route marked out long in advance.
From our bedroom window we had an incredible panorama. We could see from left to right the Cholatse, Taboche, Everest, Lhotse, Shartse, Ama Dablam, Kyashar and Tamserku peaks .
The route from Kyangjuma to Phakding was almost all downhill except for some steep slopes. It was 12 days since we had done it, but we enjoyed it much more. We take the opportunity to take many photos and videos.
From the first Stupa the views are impressive. It would be the last time we would see our dear Mistress Dablam . Impressive mountain.
When we crossed Namche it was already noticeable that there were much fewer people on the streets than on the way out. We are already in December and it is being noticed that the vast majority of the Trekkers have returned. Some of the Lodges were closing at the time, ending the season.
We made a brief stop at the Everest Viewpoint . It looked very nice among the trees. Who knows if we will see him again.
We keep going down, passing porters. It seems incredible that they carry those loads on their back, on a climb as hard as this one. Many of them were listening to music.
We reached the spectacular Hillary Bridge, where we had to wait for a herd of dzokyo (mix cow and yak) to cross it. Above 3,500 meters, yaks are used, which withstand low temperatures much better.
The truth is that the bridge imposes. Below the old bridge.
We continue parallel to the river until we pass to the other side through the suspension bridge at the entrance to Jorsalle , where we stop to eat at the same restaurant on the way out. It has a large terrace where we enjoy another delicious Nepalese meal.
We continue our way crossing a new suspension bridge and climbing the steep stairs until we reach the official entrance to Sagamartha Park where we sign.
Then we pass the villages of Monjo, Chumoa, Benkar and the Lodge in TokTok where we spend the first night of the Trekking. It seems incredible that 15 days have passed.
We went through TokTok and reached Phakding , the end of today's route. For me, one of the most beautiful towns of the entire route.
When we got to the Lodge, we took a shower and had dinner in the living room. As every day we go down with our bag of Iberian ham for the aperitif. That night we were the envy of a large group from Singapore.
Today we could already enjoy some delicious Everest beers .
Also the most popular dish is Dhal Bhat .
This was the meeting place after 3 days with our partner Alejandro. He did complete the Three Steps by crossing from Gokyo through Renjo La Pass to the other side. He told us that he was lucky, not finding ice on the pass, nor on the descent to the middle of the slope to Lungden . There it coincides with the ancient "Trade Route of Salt" between Tibet, Nepal and India . The route is not very attractive, since you are encased in the gorge passing small villages until you reach Namche . Thame's population is the most important of all that journey. It has one of the oldest and most beautiful monasteries in the Khumbu region. It is home to famous Sherpa climbers including Apa Sherpa and Kami Rita Sherpa . It is also where Tenzing Norway was born and spent his childhood, who was a few years later, the first man with Edmund Hillary to climb Mount Everest .
After dinner we said goodbye to Alejandro with the hope of meeting again in Spain.
He didn't take a plane in Lukla like we do. He was still on his way down the river. And that came from getting the Annapurnas a few days before (a machine).
Around 8:00 p.m., like every day, they turn off the stove in the living room and everyone goes to sleep.
Tomorrow, the last day of the journey to Lukla, where we will spend the night until we catch the plane that will take us back to Kathmandu in the morning.
What a shame, this is ending.
