Itinerary description
HOW TO GET THERE:
-Bus (approx. €3.35)
Sam 113 bus line from Funchal to trail parking lot, with many stops in between. In my ride the way was the old road (lots of curves), which took 1:30hrs in total. View was nice! Route and schedule can be found on Sam website.
-Taxi (approx. €40 to €50)
Takes 40min from Funchal in the express road. There were one or two taxis in the parking lot offering rides back, but booking the ride back in advance is probably more guaranteed
-Car
There is a parking lot
HIKE
-Well indicated, self guidance
-Safe stairs
-Restaurant and WC close to end of the trail
-View points all the way
-Exposed to sun, wind and rain
-Weather can change fast, go prepared
-Some 4G available in parts of the way
-Popular for all ages
