Itinerary description
What could be a lovely walk through the woodland surround Farena, is complicated by the fact that it's badly signposted along the first hour of the walk. Once you leave Farena behind you soon hit a bridlewalk; from there it took us a good 10 minutes to figure out a path which had not been cleared for sometime and which would eventually lead us to the giant pine called Pi de les Piquetes. Once there it was all plain sailing with the path clearly indicated.
On a note of interest the Pi de les Piquetes is a 25 meter tall, 100 year old pine tree, the only one left behind when the forest was cut down at the turn of last century. It's bark still shows the marks of the bullets of an execution which took place during the civil war.
