Itinerary description
This is a wonderful hike through open forest to the world famous Kinsol Trestle - one of the tallest free-standing timber rail trestle structures in the world - and back.
This gently rolling set of trails passes by two small lakes on the outbound leg and follows the Koksilah River valley back through the lush Fern Grotto.
If you have not been to the Kinsol trestle this hike is worth the effort just to see that.
The trails are a mixture of decommissioned logging roads and footpaths. You may encounter horses, ATV's or bikes on the wider sections.
There is a picnic shelter with interpretive signs and pit toilets on the north end of the Trestle.
The Retreads Hiking Club gives the outbound leg of this hike hike an AVA rating of 3C and slightly easier inbound leg. a 2C.
