Itinerary description

Beautiful route with views to Río Higuerón and the surrounding mountains.
The acequia path is quite narrow in some places so not suitable for those with a fear of heights.

Great route. Bring waterproof shoes! We followed it in reverse and it was slightly tricky to find the way back up the mountain at the top of the trail, but fine once we got back onto it.

Amazing scenery. The platform next to the acequia(irrigation canal) started off easy to walk on but it gets narrower and the fence disappeared mid way. Definitely not for the faint hearted and good waterproof hiking boots are needed especially on the path down to the valley, which was quite steep and with loose rock. Really enjoyed it though. Saw a few mountain goats at the bottom and lots of avocado trees at the start. Would definitely recommend it.

Easy to follow, great views. And you can definitely do it without waterproofs. We even saw people on flipflops (direction: river first)!
