Itinerary description
Yet another trail that links to the road entrance of the valley at Qafa e Thores. This walk from Nderlysa can be undertaken in both directions, though one should be aware that it's slightly overgrown and steep in parts. More often hikers walk it uphill, using the shade that the untouched forest behind Kapreja provides to climb almost 1200m elevation. We still rated it medium as it contains neither technical difficulties nor crosses alpine terrain.
The lower part of the walk is straightforward and leads from Nderlysa on a wide donkey path through the canyon past the "Blue Eye" (as described in the two other tracks).
Once you cross the wooden bridge below Kapreja, follow the main track to the right and ascend between walls past the houses, during early summer on your right a waterfall becomes visible before you enter the forest.
(Update December 2012: The bridge has been destroyed, you will have to cross the river for now by jumping from rock to rock or by utilizing a tree trunk as a brige)
Within the pristine forest you walk past moss overgrown rocks and old ruined buildings, often animals can be spotted and many flowers found.
In early spring, cross the river via a big fallen tree a bit upstream, onwards the gradient increases and your views improve, cullminating in the breathtaking panorama of Qafa e Thores.
The one-way walking time for this track should be up 5h or down 3:30h. Beware that temperatures can become quite hot in the valley during the summer, start early.
