Itinerary description
Looking on the map, we did the trek anticlockwise. The ascent was easier than the descent, but offered fewer views.
Starting from Camp Triglav in Trenta, we went up via Krotica and Lepoč to Treboški dol. This part of the trail you walk in the forest and from around 1400 metres above the sea level on the meadows. At around km 8 you turn right and go up through Zelena griva with beautiful views on surrounding mountains. At around km 10.5 you turn left to reach Zasavska koča where you can have some drinks and order food.
From the koča you can do a small tour to see two lakes: Rjavo and Zeleno. Then you go back down the Zelena griva after which you turn right to return another way than you arrived: you go down via Zadnijski dol. This part of the trek was more challenging than the way up, as the slopes are steeper and you walk on loose stones and even on snow (in July). Good mountain shoes and sticks are very helpful.
At km 17.9 you turn left and you come back to Trenta via Zadnjica valley. This part of the trek is easier as you walk on a wider road.
