Itinerary description
I'd say this is a perfect hike. Easy to navigate, spectacular views, lots of different landscapes. First half is all climbing, sometimes steep, second half a more gentle descend.
You'll be walking on lava mostly. Rocks, sand and grit. Going up to the volcano climbing the grit means two steps up and slide one step down - the only not comfortable part. You can avoid this by keeping the GR and walk back on the volcano ledge.
We had no clouds, no mist and no wind on the top, which made it extra amazing. Obviously the weather can change quickly and I suppose in summer it might be very hot climbing in the sun.
