Itinerary description
Desde Valencia, Bejís se encuentra a unos 80km. Hasta el aparcamiento, se llega muy fácilmente por carretera. Nos aparcamos por los merenderos de la Fuente de los Cloticos. Desde allí, empezamos la ruta bajando unas escaleras.
La ruta es muy fácil de seguir, están las marcas en varios puntos para indicarnos el camino. La evaluamos como moderada, por la distancia y el desnivel. Sin embargo, no tiene tramos complicados y las subidas no se hacen pesadas. Hay que tener cuidado en el Estrecho, ya que hay algunas trepadas y puede resultar complicado si la piedra está mojada.
Cada tramo de esta ruta vale la pena. Pasando primero por una senda a lo largo del río, subiendo por el bosque hasta un mirador, bajando y caminar por el lecho del río hasta pasar por el Estrecho. Una ruta muy recomendada!
Importante destacar: Realizamos esta ruta en abril 2024. La zona sufrió un importante incendio en agosto 2022. La primera parte de la ruta pasa por el bosque en recuperación. El río Palancia está casi seco, tanto la poza del inicio de ruta, como la poza del Molinar y el Nacimiento del Río, al final de ruta. Sin embargo, es una ruta preciosa, pasar por el Estrecho del Cascajar es una autentica pasada. Esperemos que la naturaleza pueda florecer de nuevo para que esta ruta sea aún más mágica de lo que es.

🇺🇸 English: A 14-kilometre loop from the Fuente de los Cloticos to the Estrecho del Cascajar, through the Ríos de Arriba and the village of Molinar, in the town of Bejís (Valencia).
Bejís is about 80 kilometres from Valencia. It is very easy to get to the car park by road. We parked at the Fuente de los Cloticos picnic area. From there the route starts down some steps.
The route is very easy to follow, there are markings at several points to show us the way. We rate it as medium, due to the distance and the incline. However, there are no difficult sections and the climbs are not steep. Be careful in the Estrecho, as there are some climbs and it can be complicated when the stone is wet.
Every part of this route is worth it. First you walk along a path by the river, up through the forest to a viewpoint, down and along the riverbed until you cross the Estrecho. A highly recommended route!
Important note: This route was completed in April 2024. The area suffered a major fire in August 2022. The first part of the route goes through the recovering forest. The Palancia River is dry, both the pool at the start of the route and the Molinar Pool and Nacimiento del Río at the end. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful route, and the crossing of the Estrecho del Cascajar is a real pass. Let's hope that nature can flourish again to make this route even more magical than it already is.

El Estrecho del Cascajar
🇪🇸 Seguimos el camino por el Estrecho del Cascajar. Un paisaje único! La piedra está bastante lisa, con lo cual si ha llovido antes (o está lloviendo, como nos pasó a nosotros!), hay que tener cuidado porque resbala mucho.
