Itinerary description
There is traffic ban in force during Sundays as the guards explained us at the entrance of the road under construction. This is to avoid teenagers who want to race there. During working days the road is open to public as the heavy machinery and trucks are at work on those days, meaning that races cannot be organized. The road up to the place where the tunnel is to be opened is around 5-6 km , than a narrow car road curves to the right leading to the Skarfica Pass. From there the eye can catch views all the way down to Butrint, Corfu and around. The road on the other side is also opened to the place where the tunnel is to be opened. The construction company has promised to inaugurate the road in one year time. Let's hope so, considering that they have promised the same in the past.

Thanks for the update and wow, so much road construction down South! Once the road from Kardhiq to Saranda finishes and the one from Tepelena - Gusmar - Kuc - Pilur meets the Vlora - Kuc - Borsh segment access to one of the best mountainscape of the South will greatly improve. Let's hope that further small family run businesses and does not only benefit the "business men" of Tirana, Vlora and Saranda.
