Itinerary description

This is a nice circular route below Gaucín, passing through a variety of terrain and giving great views. The first half descends on an old route called Camino Copaipa and the return leg is on Camino Gibraltar - which passes the "ermita" of one of the patron saints of Gaucín, San Juan de Díos.

Directions to the start of the walk: From Gaucin, drive a short way down the A-377 towards Manilva; park in a safe place near the track to Finca La Hoya del Peral, and then walk back up the main road for 5 minutes to join the start of the Wikiloc route. Part of the route is marked with two blue stripes. Please close all gates and take care when crossing the roads.

Look out for a faint blue arrow on a rock; leave the concrete track and go down a grassy slope towards the house you can see below. Then pick up a rough path which goes downhill.

Pass through the pedestrian wire gate, which is on the left of the large metal gates to Finca Arroyo del Moro. Walk downhill on the concrete track, and at the next corner go straight on through a wire gate.
