Walk Start
To the Right of the petrol station take the street Camino Montoro and follow the row of houses to the end and continue down the concrete track ahead. Ignore the GR141 marker post with an X on it.
Steel Gate
Pass through the steel gate and fork Right going downhill. If the gate is locked (very rarely) there’s a wire and post fence to the left of the main gate.
Wire & Post Gate
Pass through the gate and head left and downhill. Follow the good forest track which winds through the oak Forrest. After about 15 minutes ignor a track joins from the left. Continue straight ahead following the tile marker II which is on the right of the track. In a further 15 minutes you will arrive at T junction wil another larger track.
T Junction
Turn left following the tile markers II & V heading radually uphill for about 15 minutes. Pass by a fork Right to a Finca and continuing to follow the market tiles for a few more minutes.
Left Turn
Head up and left towards the white farm building. At the small pig building head right and upwards on the small ridge until you quickly emerge onto a grassy plateau studded with large oak trees. Head directly towards the Northern summit of El Hacho on well defined track until you reach a ridge where you turn Right to commence the ascend of Montoro.
The ascent of Montoro
Head directly up the ridge always aiming for the summit which is always directly ahead.
Montoro Summit
View North with Cortes de la Frontera in the distance. Exit the summit on the ridge heading downwards towards El Hacho. After a short while you will face another hill directly ahead. Take the path which heads to the left of the hill and skirt around the hill heading generally towards El Hacho.
Wire & Post Gate
As you emerge from the forest track pass over the well used track and through the gate and immediatly turn left and follow the marked path.
Gaucin From The Coll
Exit the Coll via the path directly ahead which will return you to the start of the walk.

Great walk - really enjoyed the walk up to and along Montoro Ridge. Took a bit of finding to find the path afterwards but not too bad! Highly recommended!

Really nice trail, definitely worth it! Apart from hundreds of goats, we've also encountered tens of pigs in the middle of the path. So be aware!
