Genoa City Tour, Italy
This is walk 2 of a seven day Mediterranean cruise. There was some planning involved, and some places were left out. Also the walks were kept short due to a time limit for embarkation.
The walk starts from the port of Genoa where our cruise ship the MSC Grandiosa docked.
From the Stazione Maritima make your way to Via Antonio Gramsci, then onto the San Giovanni di Pre church.
Then onto via di Pré, the the Chiese dei Re. Then make your wat to Porta dei Vacca, Piazza Vacchero, then Chiese di San Luca and Piazza di San Luca.
Then the Galieria Nazionale di Palazzo Spinola, which is by the Piazza di Pellicceria. Then go onto Palazzo de la Meridiana and onto via Giuseppe Garibaldi, past the town hall, Palazzi Sei Rolli to Piazza del Portello where you go through the arch that leads to a cobbled road and into the the quaint Villeta di Negro park.
Then make your way to the monument of Giuseppe Mazzini, then down via Roma and through the indoor market which is well worth a visit.
From here make your way to the large square Piazza Raffaele de Ferrari.
Then make your way to San Andrea Gardens. Then along via di Ravecca, making your way to the Museo di Sant Agustino and then onto Piazza Giacomo Matteotti and onto the Cathedral di San Lorenzo.
Then head towards the port where there is a an aquarium, marina walkway, a Galleon, a lighthouse, a submarine, Museo del Mare and finally you get back to the start.
Please note the GPS signal wasn’t that good due to the close proximity of the buildings.
