Itinerary description
4/4/18
This route isn’t all that hard... if you manage to keep on track.
GR10 originally continued from Camarena to Villel along this track. But the Teruel high commissioner of GR’s decided to shift tracks via Riadeva making it two stages of approximately 19 km each. Undoubtedly a beautiful route and a thus a wise decision.
But.. it also means that the original track is no longer maintained.
We lost track a couple of times because the red-white markers have disappeared over time and the Wikiloc track we followed was somewhat unclear too. Plus we didn’t wanna follow the turmac road that leads you straight to Villel.
This resulted in quite some searching and extra km’s. Which was exactly what we did not hope for after the strenuous 10th stage.
This said, the route has a lot to offer too; eg the beautiful scenery after Cascante where you will find hundreds of shades of brown when looking at the landscape. Or the curious rock formations surrounding Villel. Or the fact that is almost completely downhill in a gentle way.
Villel is a tiny village that is dominated by the ruins of a castle and the N-330.
We managed to find a sleeping spot just along the last one, with views on the castle. La Fonda.

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.
