Itinerary description

Snow again. This time we decided to try our luck and take the GR-path and not the road to Chequilla. This paid off in terms of walking through beautiful white landscapes on the mountains and experience white, silent hours. If it was not for the exhaustive snow trodding. It took us about two and a half hours or more to reach Chequilla. But it was worth it.
Because we read about bad marking of the next stretch to Peralejos, and because we were a bit late, we decided to take the road; 13 km instead of 11. Tiring again because the upper 7 km’s of the road were covered in snow. Luckily two cars (the first in days) made tracks that made walking easier.
We did cross some GR-signs on the road so we think this part will be marked well by now. Try if you’re not in the snow season.
In Peralejos we were lucky to find the very kind owner of Pension Pura to let us rent their nice and comfortable Apartamento El Pajar de Abuelo.

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.

The part between Checa and Peralejos is still badly marked (as was the a rerouting between Orea and Checa) but this route will help: https://nl.wikiloc.com/routes-wandelen/gr10-checa-peralejos-de-las-truchas-25686311 . Too bad I only looked for it and found it on the internet after arriving in Peralejos, having had some serious route finding problems
