Itinerary description
16/4/18
Our longest hike so far. But not difficult since the entire walk goes via a pista forrestal.
Due to the heavy snowfall the Tajo was way beyond its normal borders. Spectacular at times but it also meant we had to take another detour. After the Laguna de Taravilla we did not trust the GR10-path that further on would lead along the river ... and eventually join the pista. The path might have been flooded like so many other smaller paths.
So we followed the GR113 Natural Alto Tajo.
Passed the Salto de Poveda waterfall that really impressed. After this we saw a bridge that couldn’t be used because the water of the Tajo was too high. We were happy that from the Laguna de Taravilla we didn’t follow Bornem’s route (which we followed for this entire stage) because we couldn’t have crossed it in any way; our guess of high water was correct. After the crossing with an asphalt road we passed a couple of campamentos in between beautifully lit cliffs and we arrived just before dark. Pitched the tent on a field across the road from the refugio. Perfect spot.
Will be listening to the roar of the stream that falls down from the mountains into the Tajo.

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.
