Itinerary description
27/4/18
Woke up after the first real good night in our tent. Slight setback: after a great breakfast we had to head back to the village to get water. Then a lazy walk along a small river, through many fields, short stop at Navalpotro. Then through wetlands and I bit tedious low forest (felt like walking in the Dutch dunes) to Fuentesaviñan right after crossing the high speed railway. Lunch with pan tostado and cheese but still no coffee. For that we had to continue to Torremocha del Campo crossing highway A2. We’d strongly recommend you to stop at road bar/restaurant Arla: sets you back 40 years and serves good coffee.
At that time we started to wonder why the GR10 takes this detour through very rural, very ‘normal’ areas. We love this type of landscape but it’s not much GR-like. The answer came once entering the Barranco Del Río Dulce. Magnificent canyon with the lovely village Pelegrina at the end where we stay in Casa Lola.

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.

This landscape looks a lot like Holland...
... Flat ‘n’ wet. But the robles and the weather here makes it a lot more interesting
