Itinerary description
6/5/18
We started returning on the carretera of our detour; with renewed energy and great views, both lacking more or less on our way up to Puebla de Valles two days ago.
From the bridge over Rio Jarama, next to a beautiful Roman one, we continued on the carretera towards Valdesotos. Welcomed by the usual Sunday crowd on the bar’s terrace, we stopped for a coffee and continued towards Tortuero. For the first time in days a small senda/path again leading us over the hills covered only with oleander bushes on the verge of blooming. We ate our sandwiches at the plaza of Tortuero (where the bar was open) and continued towards Alpedrete. Again sendas eventually leading to Alpine like meadows. With cows and bull that warned us to get away. So we did.
Stunning views again on the Guadarrama mountains. And, in the distance the two huge towers of Madrid (plus the tilted one). Shortly after that we ended at the terrace of Mesón Alpedrete. Beer and patato chips.

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.
