Itinerary description
9/5/18
After a very short night in hotel Judería - don’t go there; it’s awful! - we started one of the heaviest routes so far: going up to Puerto do Honduras. And of course downhill again towards Gargantilla.
Uphill was a long climb but rewarding. Not only because of the views offered but also because of the nice cherry orchard and oak woods. Of course they disappear after getting high enough but that brought back the flowering “piorno” and the lavender.
Going down from the puerto was at least as demanding. Steep and very stony path requires full attention al the way down. But the views here are again marvelous.
We had all kinds of weather during the route: cloudy and fresh, warm, very cold on the puerto where it also started raining. After that: sunny and nice.
After crossing Gargantilla it’s a short walk to Aldeanueva del Camino. We booked a room at Hotel Esencia.

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.
