Itinerary description
11/6/18
Leaving casa rural El Caminante (how appropriate!) late and heading for bread first.
After that soon we have to walk on the road towards Abadía, which we found out later has a carriage path on its right probably all the way but we found out quite late. Coffee in Abadía and Erik got water because he forgot to fill his Platypus bag.
Just outside Abadía there’s a nice view on the mountains of the Valle del Ambroz, including the Puerto de Honduras which we passed two days ago. Soon we leave the road for a Via Pecuaria and the landscape becomes very ‘Extremaduran’ the way we know it: hills with lots of encinas and olive trees. The grass there under is still green but a bit further towards the plains you can see it is becoming yellow already. We love this landscape! (Two years ago we spent about two weeks in Extremadura in August; we exchanged houses with people from Almoharin for about 10 days and luckily they had a swimming pool cause it was só hot. Now it’s a totally different story: 20 degrees. But warm weather is coming soon...).
We walk through the same brushes as we did before (the ones with white flowers which we think it’s oleander but we’re not sure) but strange enough the haven’t started flowering yet.
We enter Zarza de Granadilla through the VP and it is said that 3 VP’s got together there, unique in Spain.
We are staying in casa rural La Cueva del Lince: simple but with a garden!
We’re deciding tomorrow what we are going to do because Natasja is a bit tired of the gypsy life for more than two months now. Maybe we will finish the last part of the GR10 another time...

We are walking the GR10 across Spain from Puçol (near Valencia) all the way to the Spanish/Portuguese border. We started March 21th 2018 and hope to finish at the end of June.
