Itinerary description
Three day hike, very well marked, beautiful scenery along the way, passing through small remote villages and some of the last remaining oak forests in this region, strongly recommended!
Day 1 - Várzea Cova - Mós (16 km)
Day 2 - Mós - Pontido (17 km)
Day 3 - Pontido - Várzea Cova (17 km)
Note: last 3 to 4 km of Day 3 incomplete due to low mobile battery.
Sleeping:
Mós: Casa de Fora and Casa de Mós
Pontido: Aldeia do Pontido and Campsite near Barragem de Queimadela
These are your only options!
Eating/drinking/shops:
Adega Monte Belo and Tasca da Viúva in Várzea Cova (Day 1)
Café Monteiro in Luilhas, tel. 253 508 359, serves lunch (Day 2)
Café Val and Café Zeca (?) in Monte (Day 2)
Minimercado in Pedraído (Day 3)
2 cafés in Lagoa that serve lunch (Day 3)
These are the only options, all other cafés and restaurants are closed since the pandemic. So you need to stock up before starting the hike.
