Itinerary description
10 km with 900 m ascent, rating 3 out of 5
This is a hike to a supposedly secluded beach that is only reachable by foot or by boat.
From the parking to the beach is about 5 km with 300 m climbing and 600 m descent. After spending some time relaxing on the sandy beach and swimming this consequently means a tough 600 m climbing and 300 m descent to get back to the car. One direction takes about 2-2.5 hours.
For some reason this hike is a bit hyped. Personally I think you can find more interesting hiking trails elsewhere on the island. The limited time you get to spend on the beach before you have to head back is not really worth it in my opinion.
- It’s a long drive from almost anywhere on the island to the starting point
- You have to walk the same trail in two directions and the trail is not extremely special
- When we did this it was quite busy on the trail and also the beach was not “secluded” at all but there were a lot of people, probably because this hike got so hyped and became so popular!
When you come by car, the last km to the parking is on an unpaved road. If you feel uncomfortable driving on the unpaved road you can leave your car at the end of the asphalt.
