Itinerary description
Great hike (loop) up along the antiguo camino de Guerra, past the old rubbish dump (vertedero) through Pago de Guerra, past Cortijada de Carrizalejo, through Los Mateos and up to the old Ventorro de la Estaca (previous inn) and back along the eastern ridge of the Herradura valley. The hike starts at the fork on the eastern ridge road where a sign says Pago de Gurra to the left and Peña Escrita to the right. The eastern ridge road goes off to the left just after you pass an urbanization on your right on the road between La Herradura and Cotobro.
