Itinerary description
Such a great walk! Very easy to follow and you don't have to be very fit to complete it (last day is the longest with 16km to walk - but less weight!). We actually skipped the last campsite because it was raining a lot so had a tough last day!
We parked our car at the 12 apostles and had a shuttle hired (company called 'Ride With Us' - phone number: 0438 407 777) to take us to Apollo Bay to the start of the walk (aprox 1:15hs driving).
I've marked every single campsite as a waypoint on the route. All of them have a shelter + toilets + rain water tanks (I bought some acqua tabs for the water in Chemist Warehouse just in case!). Campsites must be booked in advanced: https://www.parks.vic.gov.au/bookings/place/great-ocean-walk)
I've also included a photo of all the food I took with me which worked great! Had pretty good lunches/dinners and didn't end up with any leftovers. I also took a 450g gas that worked pretty good for cooking + coffees few times a day.
There are heaps of stunning lookouts and we saw heaps of kangaroos and koalas so definitely look up to the trees a lot (one of them was very very close!)
It gets pretty cold during the night (did it in April 2022) so be sure you have good sleeping gear + clothes!
