Itinerary description

Start at Lohs lane and head towards Bacchus Marsh, take the Ah Kow trail on the left and follow all the way to the river, very steep in places. Cross the river and do a bit of exploring around the Ah Kow site, plenty of evidence of the old diggings, then head up stream towards McKenzie camp. You will criss cross the river numerous times, hard going through the under growth at times. McKenzie camp is a good spot for a break.Lots of evidence again of thev old gold mining. From here the trail heads up to the spur, follow the McKenzie track to the Lower Chadwick track ( very steep ), be careful at the intersection of the Upper and Lower Chadwick is incorrectly sign posted, the Lower Chadwick goes to the left, follow this until you get back to the car.
