Itinerary description

We hiked from Anseremme train station to Dinant train station following a hike described on ‘originelewandelingen.be’ called ‘rotsen aan de Lesse’. We needed this (Dutch, sorry) description to find our way as often (in the southern part) there is no path or the path to follow is very counterintuitive...

The northern part of this walk that does not follow the Lesse is fine, easy, gentle. The southern part however is in some part very dangerous. You should not attempt this hike when it’s wet. You should only attempt to do this hike if you have a decent level of hiking/map reading. I also regretted not bringing my hiking poles of the more technical parts (where, to be safe, the only other option is to use your bare hands or butt...) We needed both the gps and the Dutch description to find our way as sometimes the gps was inaccurate and sometimes the description was deceiving. Also, as the Dutch walk indicates, the most southern part that follows the Lesse river very closely is very, very tricky... The other option is to do this part on the very easy trail on the northern bank but we realised too late this was an option ;-) Only for experienced hikers!

That being said, the region is beloved by rock climbers and kayakers because the views are indeed spectacular, many mysterious caves to explore, some castles to enjoy and stunning nature all around.
