Heli Hike (Reverse) Wadi Kub RAK Hike
We were led by Shan of UAE Weekend Lovers.
The actual Heli Hike Trail section is at the last part of this Trail that starts from the wadi Koub Trail.
This Trail is an extension of the Wadi Koub Hike.
The Last Section off the Wadi Koub needs Rope access climbs at places where there are lots of polished boulders with limited options.
This section is to be hiked with Experts and Ropes only. Ropes climbing Skills are essential.
The Wadi Koub section is Beginner+ grade Hike.
Nice, Scenic and Beautiful Wadi hike with less Bouldering but more Scrambling at places and even includes Crawling at few places.
This Trail is Easy for Experienced Hikers, but generally graded as Moderate as there are few Slippery places on the Rocks ( Polished surfaces , even in Flat area ) and Polished Boulders and lots of Water pools big enough to swim. But unfortunately the pools were dry when we visited as there has been no rains recently.
Please do not visit this Wadi in case it is raining anywhere in the vicinity as any Flashflood can be dangerous. There is simply no escape in the Wadi due to Vertical walls in the narrow Canyon at few places.
You can drive as far as the last drivable section of Wadi Naqab end and park there ( about 1 Km after Sheri Village hike start point ) and start the hike. They have prepared a nice Car parking spot.
Even Sedans can reach the area with cautious driving.
The Trail is sort of marked by Hazza Fazza group with Small boards, Marker Cairns and Spray painted arrows.
You need to be really careful while walking at the edges of Balconies as you can slip or fall if you are not attentive.
There are ropes and wires installed for support at few places, but there are still some risky spots, specially for beginners.
Please be careful and attentive while hiking this trail and be sure footed.
This Trail is about 4.5 Kms one way and it ends at a Vertical Wall, from where it becomes part of the famous Heli hike.
Somewhere along this trail, there is Sanath village, which we didn't hike to as we were visiting this area for the first time.
It is a refreshing trail with no ropes needed on this segment of the Trail.
Be safe, keep attention and enjoy the hike.
Take Mandatory preparations of hiking.
