Itinerary description

Trail head: Collado de Sevilla / Mirador del Canal de la Espartera

Beautiful hike (loop), with or without doing the summit of the Trevenque, kown as the "King of the Sierra Nevada mid-mountain range" (rey de la media montaña de Sierra Nevada), an emblematic 2.079 m (6.820 ft) peak with stunning 360º views of Sierra Nevada's snow-clad three-thousanders (+11.000ft) and the valley that harbours Granada and the surrounding villages. On this occasion here I skipped the summit and waited for my companions to climb the peak and come back down (+1.5 hours).

There is only one fountain on the way where water can be refilled, and it's after around the half of the hike, so one should make sure they bring enough water.

To climb the peak you follow the path to the left. When you're almost at the top, you need to climb over a rock and continue to the left to reach the summit. From that point (the rock) make sure you memorize the way. You descend the same way you went up.
