Itinerary description
Cala Urgell and Cala d'en Bosch are two secluded beaches with a difficult access on foot.
Among those that are reachable on foot, these two beaches are probably the most isolated ones in the Costa brava. Hiking gear is needed (hiking shoes, poles, water...), since this is not a pleasant walk to the beach.
At the starting point, there is a parking spot with enough room for a couple of cars. Do not leave valuable items in the car.
TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
PART 1:Parking to cala Urgell:
The first junction path may be difficult to find, so the GPS may be helpful at that point. Once you find the path, the trail, despite being faint in some parts, can be followed thanks to the existing cairns in the most puzzling parts.
In all your way down to Cala Urgell, the path is pretty steep, sometimes slippery. Using hiking poles is very useful. You will enjoy stunning views of Cala Joana (in the south) and Cala Urgell itself (in the north). At the end of the descend, after crossing a ravine, you will arrive at Cala Urgell , which is a pebble beach. Despite being very isolated, In the summer season you are likely to find many boats anchoring there. So, if you don't like sharing the space with other people, from that point you can keep your way to Cala d'en Bosch, where boats hardly ever anchor.
PART 2: Cala Urgell to cala d'en Bosch:
There is not any path as such. You have to continue parallel to the beach, doing some boulder hopping and some easy scramblings, improvising your way. Actually, I am rating the trail as "difficult" because of this sector.
Cala d'en Bosch is also a pebble beach, with a pine tree right in the middle that provides you with a nice shadow. You will notice that there are some stairs coming down the cliff behind the beach. That used to be a path, but now, due to rockslides, it has become a more complicated alternative to get to the beach. Because of that, Cala d'en Bosch is even more isolated than Cala Urgell.

A Cala joana impossible arribar-hi?
Hola, Cabier. Diria que a peu n'és del tot impossible. Al menys jo no he trobat cap forma d'arribar-hi.
