Itinerary description
I had an extra day in Trigrad as I wanted to visit the Devil's Throat cave so I made a quick, improvised hike to Yagodina and the viewing point. No cave visit here as did not have enough cash 😢
The hike is easy for the most part as it's mostly on dirt roads (except coming down the viewing point and up/down the ridge near Trigrad). No problems finding a path. I enjoyed going near the edge of the Trigrad Gorge (though too many trees to really appreciate it). Aside from all the 4x4s passing me by with all the tourists looking like cattle (😂) to eagle's eye, the viewing point is nice but nothing grand or a must-see. Although the view back to Yagodina and the valleys surrounding the village is definitely gorgeous. The viewing point is interesting if you're afraid of heights for sure XD
Other trail comments is that going southeast towards Kokalov Vrăh, the road ends at around km 18. And so I had to improvise to get to the ridge by going on a steep way south (GPS struggled a lot here) and fought my way through some small bushes until I reached it. Before reaching it, I saw an old trail going east-west and presumably to cross near the ridge. I followed east staying mostly on the ridge until I got a really gorgeous view of Trigrad and the valley southeast. I think that was my favorite part! ❤️
The trickiest part is I decided to go down to Trigrad via that same steep slope with the view. It's very steep but nothing dangerous. Just need good footing/boots (I'm never gonna stop saying you need good boots!). And then I was near my accommodation in 30 mins. It was a good shortcut!
