Itinerary description
Hiking - Right time of the year to experience the full bloom of hundreds of thousands of wild mountain daffodils (Narcissus poeticus) at Pian delle Nere.
We had planned a bike ride but the weather was inclement until mid-afternoon and we tried our luck through a hike instead. Dark clouds above and, while going up, the flowers area was wrapped in thick fog/clouds. It luckily opened up by the time we reached it. Lack of sun wasn't too bad though, at least it didn't rain.
The flowers bounty at this site is anyway glorious regardless of the weather conditions.
The weather has been warmer than usual so far. The flowers peak was probably a week earlier but couldn't go due to Covid-19 restrictions. Better late than nothing!
