Itinerary description
This hike quite literally starts behind Bergen`s IKEA. Doesn`t sound promising? Think again. This fantastic little mountain area has escaped development around sprawling Åsane and remains one of my favourite destinations for a quick, though impressive hike. Also check `Veten` on my wikiloc: another great hike in this area. This hike will take you 3 hours tops and is packed with most of what Western Norway has to offer to tourists: quaint farms, rustic lakes, rugged moors, jagged peaks and, last but not least, fjord views. Pick up the well-signposted trail from the Baugtveit carpark and wallk past the farmhouses. Here, the trail will climb up to a lake and continue onwards through dense pine plantation. After 10 minutes, you`ll emerge on top of a heather-clad ridge. Follow the trail to the right and climb up Høgstefjellet. The way down is a bit swampy, so you may get wet feet. During spring, this section is covered with flowers..

Super nice trail, be carefully on not going if it’s foggy if you want to see the beautiful views from the top
