Itinerary description

This hike starts from "Glenora Trails Head Regional Park". It is a lovely hike along the Cowichan River Footpath, a woodland trail running beside Holt Creek & the Cowichan River. The woods along the lower section of the trail are a mossy green mix of maple and cedar trees with a fern forest floor. The trail can be quite “rootie” in some sections and there is one significant set of stairs.

There are washrooms at the trailhead.

We have a recorded shorter version under the name "Holt Creek I".

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 2C.

Looking for a hike in the Cowichan Valley? Or, looking for hiking companions? Google "Retreads Hiking Club CVRD".

Back in the day, when the railroad built something out of concrete they would put a date on it. This culvert was built in 1936.
