Waypoints
Kaisariani Fire Guard Station junction
This is the preferred starting point for many hikers and bicyclists.
Entrance to the path
Right across the Kaisariani Fire Guard Station is the entrance to the path. Actually, it's the shortcut to the original path that once used to start much lower between the neighborhoods of Kaisariani and Ilissia and was interrupted when the ring road was constructed in the 80's. It's quite steep just for about 50 meters.
North East view
View towards the military construction remains of the WWII German occupation.
Inside the forest
The biggest part of this circle path is inside Mediterranean forest.
Trail heading South
For a few meters between the Taxiarchis and Kalogeros hills, the trail heads South.
West entrance to Taxiarchis hill
The small medieval chapel is the first view while entering the hill from the West.
Early Christian Chapel on Taxiarchis hill
The North West view of the recently restored Chapel.
Early Christian constructions on Taxiarchis hill
Remains of Early Christian constructions with embedded elements from destructed Greek antiquities.
City view from Taxiarchis hill
View towards the West. The port of Peraias to the center and Salamina Island on the back. Acropolis hill to the right.
East entrance of Taxiarchis hill
East view of the Early Christian and Medieval constructions on Taxiarchis hill.
Kaisariani Monastery, entrance
The west entrance of the archaeological site of Kaisariani Monastery. The Monastery was founded in the 11th century on the remains of ancient Greek establishments.
Church and Chapel
The church Eisodia of Theotoc and the chapel of St. Antonios inside the yard of the monastery. Views from me inside of the church.
Trapeza, entrance
Entrance to the cooking and dining room with embedded classical antiquity carved marble.
Fountain
Outside the East wall, next to the East entrance of the monastery there is a lion head fountain.
Forest entrance
Right above the monastery to the South East begins an uphill path towards Kalopoula.
City view
This horizontal part of the path offers views of the city all the way to Kalopoula spring. Acropolis and Lycabetus separated by Kalogeros hill.
Rich forest
Along most of the trail there is rich in variety and density Mediterranean forest.
The peak
This is the highest elevation for this round route. Between the trees appears Taxiarchis hill.
Kalopoula spring
one of the many water tanks on the route. In Kalopoula area are available rest and refreshment facilities from morning to afternoon, seven days per week.
View to the South
The downhill path, the last part of the round route, is also constantly inside a rich Mediterranean forest.
Easy and pleasant
The trail from the Fire Guard Station to Kalopoula and back is a very easy and pleasant walk.

Goodmorning! Lovely route it seems; is there a metro nearby? Greetings from Arne, Amsterdam🙋♂️
Bus 250 from Evangelismos Metro Station will get you about 300 meters from the trail start. It's not functioning during July and August.
Hi, we are going in March, so we should be ok. Tnx for all info!
