A beautiful route that runs through the Anayet lakes and visits another lake, Espelunciecha, and two other small smaller lakes that are also very beautiful and without a name on the map.
We leave from a station higher than the one called Corral de Las Mulas, already very close to Portalet. With this, in summer we avoid two kms of asphalt one way and another two back if we leave the typical place that goes from the beginning along the GR. This route is also more panoramic than the previous one since part of it passes above the GR, which goes through the valley. It is also less crowded and visit another very beautiful lake, Espelunciecha.
At the starting point there is a very large parking lot, belonging to the station, to leave the car and where it is normal to find horses and cattle.
Very soon we will leave the asphalt and start the climb still with remains of the infrastructure of the ski resort, although we will soon be approaching the Espelunciecha lake, quite beautiful and quiet, and the landscape changes completely. From the beautiful lake, we were planning to climb the Spelunciecha point, just in front, but the existence of snowfields that were located in a bad position made us change our plans and continue quietly along a clear path towards the Anayet lakes, surrounding the aforementioned point Spelunciecha leaving it behind. the right, first passing through a small lake and using a very comfortable and panoramic path that runs above the most popular route to the Anayet lakes, the GR-11, which we will see down to our left in the direction of the March.
This path joins the GR almost reaching the hill where the great plain begins where the spectacular Anayet lakes are located, at the foot of the stylized peak of the same name.
After taking a long tour of its shore, we visited a nearby lake attached to the large lake (wp "lake with views") from which a spectacular view of Midi d'Ossau is contemplated.
Once the area has been properly photographed, we start the return route following the same route until we reach wp Cruce 2, where we pull to the right towards an old converted refuge and the Batallero hill, passing just before another beautiful lake with great views.
Once past the Batallero pass, we get back into the environment of the ski slopes, detracting a bit from the landscape in these last meters to the car.
The route has no technical difficulty, almost all of it goes on a clear path and where the terrain does not, it is comfortable to walk, being mostly meadows without any danger, except for the existence of a snowfield at the beginning of summer.

Muchas gracias Kayman!!
