Salimos de la subestación de Rotalde, perteneciente al antiguo tren Vasco-Navarro. Junto a la subestación se puede dejar aparcado el coche. Inicialmente seguimos las vías hacia el Este pero pronto nos introducimos en el bosque de hayas y coníferas. La ruta tiene algunas zonas a cielo abierto que nos permiten ver los alrededores. En general es una pista ancha de suelo suave aunque hay tramos de suelo de piedra. Pendiente moderada. Casi llegando a la cima nos encontramos con un puesto de palomas. La cima está en una zona de preciosas hayas, sin que exista una panorámica del entorno. Existe un pequeño hito que marca la cumbre, parecido al Atomium de Bruselas. En el camino de vuelta, cuidado con el WPT marcado como “Desvío derecha”. Ese punto indica un descenso por una ladera cubierta de hojas. Puede ser muy resbaladizo y no hay senda marcada salvo por algunos hitos de piedra. Ya casi llegando a la subestación pasamos por la ermita de Santa Isabel, equipada con mesas de picnic en la pradera. La ermita tiene, además, una zona cubierta con mesas y bancos en donde se puede hacer fuego. En resumen, una ruta muy accesible y entretenida

We start the trail at the substation of Rotalde, belonging to the old Vasco-Navarro train. The car can be parked next to the substation. Initially, we follow the rail tracks to the East but soon we enter into the beech and coniferous forest. The route has some open areas that allow us to see the surroundings. In general it is a wide path with soft ground although there are sections of stone floor. Moderate slope. Almost reaching the top we find a pigeons' hunting station. The summit is in an area of ​​beautiful beech trees, but no overview of the surroundings. There is a small milestone that marks the summit, similar to the Brussels Atomium. On the way back, beware of the WPT marked "Detour right". That point indicates a descent covered with leaves. It can be very slippery and there is no marked path except for some stone landmarks. Almost arriving at the substation we go through the hermitage of Santa Isabel, equipped with picnic tables in the meadow. The hermitage also has an covered area with tables and benches where fire can be made. In summary, a very accessible and entertaining route.
