Itinerary description
This is a circular loop that starts & ends in the picnic area above Itrabo pueblo. Note; I forgot to start recording from the very beginning of the trail & so first couple hundred of metres are missing but it’s easy to spot the path/trail.
The Ayuntamiento de Itrabo have recently improved their trails & this one was one that they have cleared the overgrown paths & inserted marker posts on (hiked mid March 2021 & there was one small section of about 250m that they still hadn’t completed, so had to fight our way through the bushes on that bit, no doubt they will have completed that section soon though).
Trail starts ascending on a good path that zigzags its way up. At the top you come to a 4x4 track which is part of a Lentigi trail, we followed that for a while & then took a path ascending rather steeply up to La Guindalera, this path then loops around & back down so is a small loop in itself. & could be missed out if you didn’t want to do it or wanted a shorter hike.
We then retraced our steps back for a short while before turning off the path to make our descent back down to our original starting point at the picnic area above Itrabo.
The descending path zigs zags its way down & again has recently been renovated so clearly signposted & cleared up.
Note: Paths do have loose stones on them so hiking poles advised
Great viewsof the coast & mountains in this area.
Lots of Almond trees, so if you time your hike at the right time (approx Feb) you could be delighted with the sight of the beautiful Almond Blossoms.
