Itinerary description

This is a circular loop that starts & ends in the picnic area above Itrabo pueblo.

Good walking trails well sign posted & well kept by the The Ayuntamiento de Itrabo.
Trail starts ascending on a good path that zigzags its way up. At the top you come to a 4x4 track which is part of a Lentigi trail, we followed that for a while & then took a path off to the right & started to make our way up a a hill trying to reach the top & walk along the ridge. There is a path but it was rather over grown in places with prickly bushes. This past of the hike was a rescue & we managed to reach the top & follow the ridge for quite a long way. Time was against up to reach the end & we turned back to retract our steps back the way we came. We then followed another very good path which makes it’s way winding & twisting back down to the picnic area where we started.

Fantastic 360 views from the top of the ridge across to the Sierra Nevada & out to the Mediterranean Sea. The ridge was fine to walk along & in some places needed a little scrambling.
If the path up to the ridge gets cleared in future of the prickly bushes & is better defined it would be a great addition to the route but maybe it’s not for people with a fear of heights &/or vertigo though.

Note: Paths do have loose stones on them so hiking poles advised.
