Itinerary description
This hike, shared by Patrick Rainbow hiker, takes you beyond the usual trails for breathtaking views! We extended the route to see the stunning coastlines of Dibba and Ras Al Khaimah, offering a unique perspective of two coastlines in one hike.
The trail offered a variety of wildlife encounters: a Persian horned viper (be cautious!), birds, butterflies, and fragrant plants. We also passed by farms, met friendly locals, and saw donkeys and goats.
The descent up Yabir is pretty easy if you have a decent level of fitness. There are many hand and footholds, no loose rocks, and no scary verticals. It’s at the top where we sighted the viper hiding in a rock crevice, so it’s worth taking care of disturbing any as they are poisonous.
Bear mind in a hundred plus hikes I have only seen two vipers, so they are very rare.
Leave No Trace: Remember to pack out all your trash and respect the natural beauty of the area. (sadly not everyone does the same) sigh

Looks like a great hike. On Yabir do you actually end up walking in Oman/Mussandam for a part?
The hike crosses into Oman territory at certain points although it’s tough to know exactly. But wiki shows the purple border lines. you look into Dibba I believe the UAE side. Bear in mind the elevation is high so you’ll be way above sea level. I hope that helps, give me shout.
And I hope you like the route 👊
It looks like a great route. I've not been able to get out in a while but maybe next season I can do this one. Lack of shade suggests it's a winter hike haha
Fair enough. Good plan there is indeed zero shade.
