Itinerary description
Quite tough for the distance posted. Starts with a steady climb from the town up to Asomadillas. Views of the valley, discos, eucalyptus, alcornocales, pines. Second stage of the hike is through light cork forest. The third part of the hike starts a steep descent into the river valley. Pine forest, lots of shade and cooler. The next stage of the hike winds back and forth across the river. Would it be doable after rain? I doubt it. We followed the route into the botanical garden. I'd actually recommend following the calzada romana and wrapping back round into the town
