Itinerary description
The Finsteraarhorn is the highest peak in the Bernese Alps (4,274 m), which offers breathtaking views of the surroundings.
To conquer it, the road is long, in fact you have to cross the Jungfraufirn which is part of the largest glacier in the Alps called Aletsch Glacier about 23 km long, then once at Konkordiaplatz you turn left next to the Konkordia hut and you take the passage called Grünhornlücke (3,273 m), then you go down and across another glacier: Walliser Fiescherfirn to finally arrive at the Finsteraarhornhütte (3,048 m), in total more than 14 kilometres of hiking. From this point the real ascent of the summit starts, more than 1000 meters in height difference, over 4 kilometres.
