Itinerary description

The trail starts at the hiking map in town. From there follow the road until you can turn left. This road climbes uphill. Once you leave the buildings behind you'll see the first marking. The wide path leads you steeply uphill. Always follow the obvious path unless marked otherwise. Once you reach the top you'll be able to see the mountains of all the National Parks in the area. The path descends through forests close to the Macedonian border. Once you meet a wide path turn left and follow it.
Later the path descends steeply with stunning views of the lake. Once you reach the lake just follow the shore. Don't miss out on the old church on the way. Upon reaching Kallamas again just follow the road and it will lead you to the starting point.

Nice trail, but sometimes hard and passages to climb (on seashore)

Don't forget your GPS or Mobile Phone, because you will not find all paths. We were alone the whole time, only a Shepard with his goats were on the beach.

We need 5 hours with little breaks.

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful trail. It was one of the highlights of our holiday in 2019! We did the trail in the other direction and had a different path back to Kallamas/Tuminec (I think we followed the official trail as described by the information panel in Tuminec). It was worth coming all the way from Ohrid in Macedonia to Tuminec in Albania!

    Super trail

We hiked this trail in May 2023 and we can recommend it.
A few notes that may of use for others:
    - use the gpx track because the markings are not easy to follow. During the first half of the trail, especially during the descent, the road is a bit overgrown and hard to find. With the help of the gpx track however no problems.
    - somewhere halfway the part of the track that goes along the beach, a trail can be followed a bit higher up on the slope. This part is also marked and a very pleasant alternative to the hiking on the stones on the beach that was very tiring.
