Itinerary description
A short easy hike that can be done in less than 2 hours but you should allow some extra time to enjoy the natural stone bridge place (Jisr el Hajar). Starting at the main Kfardebian Faqra road near the Roman ruins, i followed the LMT along a water canal. The stone bridge is reached after a 2.5 km walk. This place is amazing. Take your time to see it from above then go down following the LMT. Instead of continuing directly on the LMT, go to the right and head towards the area under the bridge. July is not the best time to visit this place because the riverbed is dry (better to visit in April or May) but it's still so relaxing to sit in the shade of the bridge and enjoy the panoramas around. Most of the time, you will have a splendid view of Chabrouh lake surroundings: Jerd Hrajel and its cross, Jerd Faraya, the cross and St Charbel statue, and Chabrouh dam. The lake is not visible from this altitude. The way back is through agricultural fields and apple orchard. I highly recommend this trail, it can be a beautiful half-day walk or a part of a longer hiking loop. Enjoy, keep it clean and stay safe!
