Itinerary description
Following the Jordan Trail from Khirbet al Souk to King Talal Dam. The route takes you up a secluded wooded valley, then a long descent to the Dam. The views over the Zarqa Valley are excellent. It is quiet countryside, through trees and open land. Beautiful, particularly in Springtime when there wildflowers are out. The walking is mostly on good tracks and roads, though there are some off-road sections, steep in places. The route avoids the village of Borma by taking roads/tracks around its north and east sides.
Car access to the north side of the King Talal Reservoir is restricted. There is a gate and guard at the point marked on Google Maps as "King Talal Dam Viewing Area", which is approx 3.5km from the dam. But if you speak Arabic, you might be able to negotiate with the guard to let you through!
