Itinerary description

This was a 7 day trek in Kungsleden.

Day 1: Nikkaluokta - Kebnekaise Fjällstation
I took a bus from Kiruna to Nikkaluokta. From Nikkaluokta, it takes 18 km to Kebne station. The hike goes in quite easy terrain with a small elevation gain. It is possible to shorten by 5 km by taking a boat that costs 450 kr. At the station, you will find shop, restaurant and accommodation. There is no cost to tent in the surroundings, but if you want to use the facilities it costs 350 kr for non-STF members.

Day 2: Kebnekaise Fjällstation - Kebnekaise toppen
At 2096 m, Kebnekaise is the highest peak in Sweden. The hike is quite demanding, it is 18 km with 1500 m elevation gain. The hike goes first to a peak which is not Kebne, then you lose some 200 m going down and finally goes up to the peak itself.

Day 3: Kebnekaise Fjällstation - Singi
This path is a 14 km hike and it is also quite easy. Singi is a simpler hut, with no shops, only beds, toilets and kitchen. Tenting is free, using the facilities will cost.

Day 4: Singi - Sälka - Tjäktja
25 km hike starting from Singi, passing in Sälka and finishing in Tjäktja. This section is a bit more demanding as you go up to the Tjäktja pass. Sälka is a hut more equipped than Singi, it has a shop where you can buy supplies.Tjäktja on the other hand, is like Singi, and sits in a very rocky area, finding a good spot for a pitch might be difficult. There is an emergency hut in between Singi and Sälka, and another in the Tjäktja pass.

Day 5: Tjäktja - Alesjaure
This path takes 13 km to hike, it has some river crossing, but the terrain is quite easy as it starts to slowly go down. Alesjaure hut sits in a beautiful place, with many facilities including a sauna.

Day 6: Alesjaure - Abiskojaure
This path is 21 km, and also has some river crossing but is quite easy to hike. Abiskojaure is also a good equipped hut.

Day 7: Abiskojaure - Abisko turiststation
Last day from Abiskojaure to Abisko, easy 13 km hike. When you finish, you get to the tourist station, a big building with a hotel, shop and restaurant. From the tourist station, it takes 15 min to walk to Abisko village.
